cqc#48 - mixed companies

Hi there,

oh my, the weeks just fly by ... I wanted to post more often but .... well, life always comes in the way, grrr! Sorry for that!

Today's card is for the colorQ challenge from my friend Arielle - go and check out her gorgeous inspiration photos!!! Just eye-candy-yummyness!

And for this week I decided to stay away from my beloved PTI stamps - that was hard. I still haven't had the time to just sit down and play with them ***sniff***.. But I got two new sets from Claire from Waltzingmouse Stamps and I LOVE them. And Claire is the sweetest person ever, that's for sure.

Back to the card - I used a total of 4(!) different stamp sets from 3 (!!!) different companies, yeah to me! ;) And yes, I gave up and used one from PTI :) - couldn't resist. Can you say I'm addicted? NOOOOO!
The layout is from CCEE#1034 - I think I will used this one a lot in the future.

Thank you for stopping by today and stay tuned - tomorrow I have a card (actually 2) that will meet a lot of challenges ....
Hugs Tanja

Thank you, Ms Lorie

Hi there,

for today's card... well, let's say it just matches many things!

Ms Lorie is one of my oldest boy's teacher and when I first saw her I wasn't too excited about her (which is the nicer version of what I really thought). But when I got to know her better during the last year I figured out how wrong I've been. She is the sweetest person ever. She takes great care of all her preschoolers and even of the moms. And whenever I had a question or needed some support (concerning bi-lingual..., where to get those songs, any idea where to find good kids books for bringing to Germany, ...) she was there to help immediately. I'm so thankful to have her as Mathis' teacher. That was my first thought when I saw Taylor's new stamp set that has been released in April...... *sigh*

The second thing is: Verve is having another huge release party- BEACH PARTY!!!! And to celebrate this Julee provided 5 challenges to win a bunch of goodies. And you all know how much I love winning goodies, right? So I took one of her sketches and my April Key Ingredients set from Taylored Expressions and went to work.

Love the DP, the colors, the ribbon ... and oh, yes! Every single stitch I made with the sewing machine was preplanned :-)) (that is the reason why I do not do quilting :::rolleyes:::)

Thank you for stopping by today - I wish you a wonderful rest of the week and hope to see you soon!
Hugs Tanja

Deets:
stamps: Make the Grade & Extra Credit from Taylored Expressions
ink: Choc chip, Antique Linen Distress
paper: kraft, very vanilla, duty durango, Material Girl Cosmo Cricket,

VLVApril - Love & Flower

Hi there,

how are you all doing? Are you enjoying spring weather so far?

You may already know that I love to play with the Viva la Verve challenge over at SCS. And this month the inspiration for the challenges comes from living room. I wish I had one of these living rooms myself ....

Amber had a bunch of great pictures from living rooms and I chose this one to get inspired for my card. I just couldn't make the warm brown tone of the table go with my color combo :-(

Here is a close-up view of my 3-D flower and the pleaded ribbon. LOVE this technique. I saw that on one of the blogs I visited today but unfortunately I cannot remember who posted this great tutorial ... so sorry!

Thank you for popping in today and a huge thank you to all of you who left this encouraging comments lately - they are so much appreciated!
Have a wonderful day

Viva la Verve

Hi there,

I know I promised you another "In bloom" project colored with my Copics but I decided to submit it to a magazine (crazy, I know...) for publication. Just another goal for 2010 - submit cards for publication :-)) and don't be disappointed *grin*.

That's why I have a card for today that was actually made a couple days ago for the Viva La Verve challenge on Splitcoaststampers. I really like how the colors turned out.

I stamped one of the medaillion stamps from "Accent Note" on very vannila cs in perfect plum and added the little accets from the same set in pale plum - voilà, selfmade designer paper!!! The background on the kraft cardstock was made with anoher medaillion stamp from "Accent Note". Sentiment and half circle were stamped wit the same set and then colored with SU markers. I threw in some rhinestone stickers and pale plum ribbon and was done. Watcha think?

I will be back tomorrow!!! Take care my friends
Hugs Tanja

Viva La Verve Feb 2010 -3

Hello

and welcome back. I wanna show you a card I made for the Viva La Verve challenge on SCS. You can win an entire release from Verve but I like to play with this challenges because Amber Dawn has wonderful sketches and great inspiration pictures.

This time I stuck close to the sketch and made a sentiment the focal point.

For the background I stamped "French Flair" from SU with Versamark on the pretty in pink textured cardbase and with sahara sand on the ww cardstock. Then I used one of the great sentiment from Verve's "Beautiful You" and stamped it in choc chip onto the flourishes. Threw in some pearl sticker, DP from Cottage Wall and Patterned Paper Pack SU, a little bit of matting and a satin ribbon and I was done.
I think I could have added something to the left side .... but well!

Thank you for stopping by today and for taking time to leave a comment - I appreciate each and every one.

MOJO #125

Hi there,

just a short post today as we are heading out of town to Atlanta ....

This is my take for MOJO Monday#125
I just Julee's newest release "Accent Notes" and just grapped some scraps that were laying on my desk.... The sahara sand background was dry embossed with SU Perfect Details - unfortunately you can't see it on the photo.

I used my trusty EKsuccess border punch, pearl stickers, orange zest ribbon from PTI, circle and scallop circle nesties and some SU markers for coloring. That is all.Simple, huh? I love this new set!

Thank you for visiting me today - Take care
Hugs Tanja

lots of projects

Hi there!

Are you ready for the weekend yet? Do you need a little eyecandy? Sit back and relax while scrolling down this post.

I participated in the big release challenge over at Verve's. Julee will release 5 new sets and two plain ... tonight. And to celebrate this she will give away a bunch of new stamps to one lucky winner. The only thing I had to do to go into the "competition" was to create 5 project for 5 different challenges. I won't list all supplies here because I'm still in a hurry (that's life, right?). But if you wanna know what I used please checkout my gallery at SCS "3boysathome"

This challenge was to create a 3D project.

I made this card based on a sketch chalenge.

This challenge was anything but a A2 card.

For this one we had to use turquoie, gray and black.

And last but not least the use of chipboard (the two hearts).

Sorry for the blurry photos but the sunlight isn't too much here at the moment. I hope you enjoyed the "journey". Thank oyu for checking intoday with me and I wish you a wonderful and blessed weekend.

Viva la Verve

Hi there,

did you know that Verve is giving away a whole new release of stamp sets? The only thing you have to do to is participate in the Viva la Verve challenges in the weeks before Julee shows her new sets and you will be in the drawing.

For this week's challenge I kept my clean and simple style and made a "different" Valentine's card. My DH isn't a huge fan of getting cards (even though he is always interested in what I am doing...). And because I just didn't want to say something valentine-ish to him I thought this sentiment is perfect. I had to add a little bling - I know it is not boy-ish but DH wouldn't even recognize it ;-)

That's it for today. Tomorrow I have to share a whole bunch of cards that I created for a release challenge .... So, come back and check in tomorrow!!!

Hugs Tanja

MOJO Monday #121

Hi there,

just a quick post today because appointments are chasing each other today ;-)

This is my take for this week's MOJO Monday. I really wanted to try the flower that my dear friend Arielle has showcast in a tutorial. I like how the flower turned out but I'm not sure about the rest of the card. I guess there are just these days where nothing really comes together, you know what I mean?

I stamped the sentiment with Versamark and basic black ink and sprinkled it with this sparkling embossing powder. Unfortunately the picture is not enough to show it ....

Thank you for visitng me today - I'm so amazed by all this wonderful ladies who stop by everyday, leave a comment or just lurking around. Thank you so much you girls. You really make my days.

Hugs Tanja

Treasures

Hi there,

today during nap time I could sneak in a little stamping time :-) and came up with this card for this week's Viva La Verve challenge over at SCS.

The stamps are part of my second stamp set from Verve called "Believe" (fell in love with their stamps lately). Julee designed it for Breast Cancer Awareness month which was in October. But most of the stamps can be used for nearly all occasions - I just LOVE it!!!

The card is pretty self-explaining so I'll just leave you with the ingredients ....

Have a wonderful day

ink: Versamark, rich razzleberry, choc chip craft, Antique Linen Distress
paper: choc chip, rich razzleberry, very vanilla, Cottage Wall DP SU

grow by dreams

Hi there,

are you enjoying our weekend? We will go and see the Blue Angels tomorrow as they will perform their homecoming-show. Hopefully the weather will be okay ...

Before we leave I wanted to show you the card I made for MOJO Monday this week. I know I'm a little late for breats cancer awareness month. But I think you can use this sentiment for nearly all occassions. And the pink is a bright and cheery color not just made for breast cancer support, right?

A while ago I saw this clear embossed images at Laurie Schmidlin's blog and had to give it a try. I really like how it gives texture without being too bright. What do you think?

Thank you for stopping by today. I wish you a wonderful weekend with a lot of stamping time.
Hugs Tanja

SSS28 and Poinsettias

Hi there,

I'm back with two cards. Yes, I've been busy but the problem was that my husband took the camera with him to work and the second one (small one) is not as good as the other one ... So, I made a bunch of cards but couldn't post them earlier.

The first card is for the sketch challenge over at The Sweet Stop . It's a simple layout and I wanted to show the beautiful paper. And this card matches also the challenge from Sweet'n Sassy Digi Day at SNR where you are supposed to use Holly! Well, after google-ing the word (i'm german and blonde... ;-)) I grabbed this paper from SU - LOVE the Christmas Cocoa DP!

stamps: Christmas Poinsettias from Sweet'n Sassy ink: StazOn Jet Black, real red, ww craft paper: soft suede, real red, Christmas Cocoa DP SU
others: EK success border punch, red ribbon Michael's, flower nesties and Big Shot, dimensionals, Aquapainter, white gel pen, red rhinestone stickers, clear EP and heat gun

The other day I saw a card made just from white cardstock and fell in love - it looks so elegant and clean - just my style. So I tried it and love how it turned out. There is just a tiny little dark spot in the upper right corner .... well, my youngest son asked me to help taking the picture and I think he still had a tiny bit of chocolate on his fingers ..... sorry for that :-)

stamp: Poinsettia Christmas - Verve ink: Versamark, riding hood red, basic black paper: PTI white
others: Petals-A-Plenty Embossingfolder SU, Kaleidoscope EP and heat gun, pearl stickers

I wish you a wonderful weekend , enjoy the fall weather if you still have it and stay safe.
Hugs Tanja

Sketches and Challenges

Good Morning!!!!!!

I seem to develop a lot of addictions lately! And it all began when I became a SCS member and started swapping cards :::rolleyes:::. I still LOVE to do this but have you swapped card-kits yet? And do you like to participate in challenges? Once you get started you will be addicted - believe me! ;-)

I really love all the creative ideas and all the people you meet while blog hopping .... Okay, back to the cards. Guess what? Right, I made to cards for two challenges.

The first one is Mermaid Anya and I made her for this challenge from Taylored Expression. I hosted a card kit swap a while ago and this image, paper and embellies are from a kit that my dear friend Susan aka PSU_mom sent me - THANK YOU sweetie, I loves the things you included.

stamps: Mermaid Anya - The Greeting Farm; paper: night of navy, PTI white, bermuda bay, unknown DP,
others: dimensionals, rhinestone and pearl stickers, stardust stickles, watercolor pencils and blender pen, flower, scallop circle punch

This sweet Gretel was sitting on my desk for quite a while, already colored! I thought she was perfect to go with this challenge from for the Viva la Verve challenge (VLVNOV01) on SCS (I'm still trying to win a whole release ;-)).

This time the twist that Amber includes every week was to use just 1 kind of embellies (hurgh!!), 2 colors of cs plus neutral (okay) and 3 (!!!) different stamps. Boy, that was work for me. I used Pixie Gretel from CC Design by AllThatScrap, Short and Sweet SU (wish big stamp) and In Bloom PTI! I stamped the blooms with pretty in pink on the pretty in pink cs underneath Gretel - I know it is hard to see. Especially since I had to make the photos with our "not-so-good" camera - my husband took my Rebel to work (grrrrrh). Sorry for the blurry pics. This card would fit in the Clean and simple category too, huh? ;-)

stamps: Pixie Bretel CC Design All that scraps, short and sweet SU, in bloom PTI
paper: old olive, very vanilla, pretty in pink, Green Tea and Ginger Blossom DP SU
ink: pretty in pink, choc chip craft, Momento Tuxedo Black
others: SU markers, clear EP, green buttons TE, circle and scallop circle Nesties, dimensionals

Thank you for visiing me today - I wish y'all a wonderful week filled with fun and good memories.

Hugs Tanja

Viva la Verve and The Pink Elephant

Moin! (surprised? - that means "hi" in the northern german slang ;-))

I'm back with my entry for Viva la Verve OCT4. And it even fits for the Pink Elephant challenge ... *grin*
I couldn't get enough of this paper from SU - just LOVE it. And the digital images Julee gave away prior to the last release party are just stunning! So I combined both and voilà!

For the TPE challenge I used black brads to cover the black and the hardware and I distressed all edges with my distressing tool. It's kind of hard to see in the picture but it is done, seriously!

Have a wonderful rest of the day
Hugs Tanja

Recipe:
stamp: digital image from Verve
paper: real red, whisper white, soft suede, Christmas Cocoa DSP SU, black brads, black ribbon, red ric-rac ribbon, dimensionals, distressing tool, watercolor pencils and Aquapainter, rhinestone from my stash

Stamp-A-Thon

note: this is my seond post for today (I'm on a roll :-)) - please make sure to scroll down to today's first post

Hi there,

a couple days ago I saw that Verve is having a release party challenge and you can win lots of prizes ... Usually I'm not a lucky duck if it comes to winning a prize (hey, I got my DH and two boys ;-)). But nevertheless I wanted to give it a try because I really like the sketches Julee came up with -> see them here.

And it was the first time that I used a digi stamp - I LOVE it!!!! Well, I think it is not really stamping anymore but it looks nice, huh?

Wow, isn't that paper pretty? I didn't want to cover it up too much.

And this specialty paper from SU is gorgeous. How can ne be sooo interested in paper???? I just ADORE it ***grin***

Another yummy paper from KI by Taylored Expression

This is the only image I actually STAMPED. And unfortunately it is the only stamp set from Verve I own - but maybe I will win the whole release .... dreaming .... :-)

This paper was part of the Key Ingredients set from Taylored Expression for October. I HAD to use it for this digi image. Doesn't it just matches .... So cool!

Thank you for letting me share my enthusiasm with you - I think I'm just glad that I made it in time ;-)

Have a great day and take care
Hugs Tanja

Scraps Vol. II

Good morning!

I'm back with another "scrap"-card - as promised....

I had these balloon images stamped on DP sitting on my desk starring at me. So I decided it is time to use them. And because it's challenge time here ;-) I decided to create a scene which I rarely do (I'm always scared when I see what great cards people can make by creating a scene ...).

It wasn't a big deal. A little bit of masking and sponging (the sky should have been lighter but for one reason I grabbed brilliant blue and sponged it without trying it before ...) a lot of paperpiecing .. et voilà - here is my ballon scene!

I just love this stamp set "up and away" from Verve. Usually I see their stamps and think "oh, how nice" but I have no idea what to do with them. When I saw this one I a bunch of ideas popped in my mind and just HAD to buy it ... You will probably see some more cards made with those cuties :-)

Have a wonderful day and thanks for popping in today.
Hugs Tanja

Recipe:
stamp: "Up and away" from Verve
ink: basic black, kiwi kiss, bashful blue, brilliant blue,
paper: brilliant blue, natural white, basic black, garden green, Basic Grey "Archaic"
others: SU "chit-chat" rub-ons, dimensionals, sponge, post-it note

Verve blog-hop

Hello everybody!

Welcome to the first ever official Anni-VERVE-sary Blog Hop. Verve turns two today and we’re celebrating with a hop, hop, hop! The party kicked off over on the Verve blog, so if you’ve just happened along, be sure to hop on over there to start from the beginning! And to make this party a real shindig, there’s a mystery jackpot hidden at one of the stops along the hop. One lucky commenter on that blog will win Verve’s entire August release! But of course, it wouldn’t be a mystery if you knew which blog, would it? So if you’re feeling the love, give a little shout out to the bloggers in the hop and you just might have a reason to jump for joy!

This is my entry for the blog-hop. You could think I made a Father's-Day-card but this one is so perfect for my husband. I'm so blessed to have such a supportive and loving man on my side that I would "fly" with him to the end of the world. And he is my hero because he kills every single spider in our house for me even at 3 o'clock in the morning (and because of a million other reasons). You probably don't wanna know all this - so I will stop babbling now.

Thanks for stopping by!
Now it’s time to hop on over to Beth’s blog, for a little more Verve-y goodness.

Have a wonderful day and thanks for stopping by.

Hugs Tanja
