Elegant in Pink

Hi there,

have you checked out the color combo for the Curtain Call's color challenge on Tracy's blog?

Look at this:

This is my take:

I LOVE the combo and couldn't stop once I got started ... *happy sigh*. I pulled out my "Damask Design" from (.... right! PapertryInk - love that company :)) and stamped the image in pretty in pink. The sentment is from the same set and stampedon the kraft cardbase with fresh snow hybrid from PTI also. Black ribbon is SU, black mat is PTI and the black rhinestone stickers are fom Michael's. I think soon you will see some more cards made with the same colors ...

colorQ challenge and some news!

and welcome today. Do you wanna know some news today? ***shout*** colorQ is having a Design Team**** and do you know the best part of it? Some of the most talented ladies come together and design cards for this team - and I have the honor to be a part of this team, wow! If you haven't checked it out yet don't walk... For me this week's color combo was quite challenging: certainly celery, bermuda bay, lovely lilac, lavender lace and white. But I wanted to play with my goodies from PapertreyInk. So I pulled out one of my favorite sets from PTI and started working. And this is the result ...

just a quick post today - days are busy at the moment - that's why I am pretty quiet during the last weeks. But it will be better :-)

Today I wanna share a card with you that I made for a contest over at The Greeting Farm. 3 wonderful ladies and I "came together" (well, virtually) and we all made a crad for the recent contest at TGF, then we chose the "best" card and that ws our entry for this week's challenge. The theme was "retro" and I had a hard time with this. So I finally came up with this beauty.

If you search for her at TGF you won't find her because my friend Lorie made just the best card for this contest. So her card went into the race - she hasn't post it yet but I will update this post when she posts, okay?

PapertreyInk bloghop - buttons

Hi there and welcome to the monthly PapertreyInk-bloghop!!!!!

For this month Nichole chose the theme: buttons *gasp*. "Hello. My name is Tanja and I'm addicted to buttons" - that would fit perfectly.

So, a couple days ago I grapped a bunch of scrap paper from my stash and sat down and created some cards. Two of them can you see here:

And since I am the new owner of a "Studio Style" stamp set (thank you PapertreyInk - I LOVE MY PRESENT!!!) designed by Dawn McVey I tried nearly every single stamp from this set :-)) . The sentiments couldn't fit better, don't you agree? ;-)

All supplies are PTI except the ink and the DS - that was from my stash.

WoJ #2 - still DT call!

Hello ***waving***!

In addition to the last post I made another card with a Whiff of Joy image. How cute is Charlotte laying on the floor and writing a letter? I really enjoy this image. I colored her with my Copics and due to the fact that I just started with this markers I had to color her sweater in plum - no pink or red or yellow here, yet! ;-)

I paired her up with a plum ribbon and some buttons.

Do you see the script-paper-circle-kind-of? Well, I wanted to use a patterned paper that I had in my stash but it didn't seem to find very well. Anything else wasn't good enough either (talk about having an idea in mind) so I pulled out a background basic set from PapertreyInk and made my own background script. What do you think? I know, it doesn't matches the deets over at Katharina's blog very well but it fits, right? :-)

WoJ - Guest Designer Call

Hi there,

isn't she darling? Since I got my goodies from Whiff of Joy I have so much fun playing around with them and my Copics. I know, there is still a lot to learn but I love the images from Whiff of Joy to play with ... :-)

BTW - Whiff of Joy is calling all Designers to apply for a Guest Designer Spot for 2 month. Hurry over to Katharina's blog to see all the deets.

I used Shopping Willow for today's card. She was released last month and I totally fell in love with her. All these bags with goodies .... *happy sigh*. I paperpieced the bags and added tissue paper to create a "natural" look of the bags and to give them a little more dimension. The black cardstock and ribbon gives her a dramatic look - .... spent too much money???? Hm, who knows ....

I chose to make an easel card so she can be in the run for this challenge too.

SOTCFB3 - Scrapbook March

Hi there,

and welcome back! It's already the 15th again - that means some ladies of the Sisterhood are showing a scrapbook laout they made based on a given theme.

This month the hostess was : ME!!!! Yeah, so exciting!

And for the theme I picked the following bible verse:

"Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay. Your

people will be my people and your God my God. Where you die I will die, and there I wi

ll be buried."

The challenge, Ladies, is to create a FaithBook page (or several) with a travel theme, but the twist is to use photos or a photo where you can see at least 2 of your loved ones on a trip. Yourself included in the picture would most definitely be welcomed too, of course!

I chose two photos that were taken on a wonderful day last April when we all made a trip to the Beaver Lake (which is just in Ft. Rucker but at least it was a trip, right?)

yes, I promised to show you a card I made with the "Baby Button Bits" from PapertreyInk - which I borrowed from my dear friend Arielle the other day. To be honest I wasn't in the mood for chatting and blogging .... do you know that feeling too? ...

But anyway... Arielle reminded me in her last blogpost to keep my promise :-) And here are not one, not two ....no, all three of the card I made that night. Enjoy!!!!

Love sponging

Hello and happy Tuesday!

What do you think of this stamp????? Isn't it gorgeous? Since I saw it for the first time - I think on Tosha Leyendekker's blog - I had to have it. And when we went to Atlanta my dear husband found exactly this stamp and pointed out "Honey, I think you will make awesome things with this one, huh?". He is just the sweetest!!!!! But awesome things ..... well!

On Beate John's blog (I'm not sure maybe it was somewhere else..., sorry!) I saw that she sponged used this stamp, embossed it and just stamped the edges. And this is exactly what I did - love the colors..... like sundown .....

Hi there,

here is another "In bloom" card I made the other day. Coloring was done with my Copics - boy, I really like them. Even coloring on kraft cs is easy and the colors are still rich and popping ( is that a word???).

I'm back with a card I made last night and that is in the run for 3 (!!!) challenges, yeah!!!

I played with my friend Arielle's colorQ challenge, the layout is from KL Stampin N Scrappin

and for Crazy 4 challenges I added texture.

I actually added texture three times: textured background paper, bubble embossing folder from Cuttlebug with white ink and my 2 band aid ... they are eligable for texture too, right? ;-)

I rotated Kelly's sketch and instead of the 3 embellies in the upper left corner I used the 2 band aids ... sorry but 3 would have been too much!

And I just loved the colors from Arielle's challenge: certainly celery, night of navy, baja breeze, sahara sand and white!!!!! The image is watercolored with those colors and they were just perfect for little dragon - poor baby.

Gotta go - we have fabulous spring weather and the boys don't wanna stay inside ...

Viva la Verve

Hi there,

I know I promised you another "In bloom" project colored with my Copics but I decided to submit it to a magazine (crazy, I know...) for publication. Just another goal for 2010 - submit cards for publication :-)) and don't be disappointed *grin*.

That's why I have a card for today that was actually made a couple days ago for the Viva La Verve challenge on Splitcoaststampers. I really like how the colors turned out.

I stamped one of the medaillion stamps from "Accent Note" on very vannila cs in perfect plum and added the little accets from the same set in pale plum - voilà, selfmade designer paper!!! The background on the kraft cardstock was made with anoher medaillion stamp from "Accent Note". Sentiment and half circle were stamped wit the same set and then colored with SU markers. I threw in some rhinestone stickers and pale plum ribbon and was done. Watcha think?
