Day 8 PTI birthday challenge

Hi there,

I'm back with another card for Nichole's PaperTreyInk birthday challenge.
Today she wants us to create a card based on this sketch and to make it a little more difficult she assigned some color combination based on the first letter of peoples online username. Mine is 3boysathome - because there was no color combo for a the 3 I skipped it and took the b ....

And this is the color palettes for Bs. I'm always struggeling with the light and pastel colors. But today I tried my best and I have to admit - I like it. Maybe it helped that I received a package today with goodies from PTI ;-))

And here is my take for today. I'm not quite okay with the lemon tart strip in the middle - I guess my papercutter isn't doing a good job anymore .... :-( And the light here around was either too bright or too dark *sigh* ... But anyhow!

Hop over to Nichole's blog to see all the new things coming to PapertreyInk in the near future - I think I'm hooked :-))

Thank you for popping in - have a safe rest of the day
Hugs Tanja

Deets:

PTI birthday and CPS challenge

Hi there,

another short post today as we just came home from our trip to Atlanta. (Loved to be at an Archiver's).

If you haven't heard it yet .. PTI is celebrating its birthday with a HUGE party - I mean H U G E!!!
ANd today they are the sponsor for the CardPositioningSystem. If you haven't been on the PTI website or Nichole Heady's blog for a while you should definately go NOW!

For today's card I used the sketch from CPS and created this little 4 1/4 x 4 1/4 card that goes with a present for my oldest son's teacher. The stamp set is from PTI, paper and ink are from SU and the ribbon is from MIchael's. I kept it simple - but I wanted to add some flourishes which I totally forgot ... :-(

For this card I tied a bow I couldn't get a nice cut ...

Here I tied the ends of the ribbon together with a piece of twine - not sure if it looks better ...

And this is the inside of the card.

That's all for today - thank you for visiting me here and I hope to see you tomorrow.

MOJO #125

Hi there,

just a short post today as we are heading out of town to Atlanta ....

This is my take for MOJO Monday#125
I just Julee's newest release "Accent Notes" and just grapped some scraps that were laying on my desk.... The sahara sand background was dry embossed with SU Perfect Details - unfortunately you can't see it on the photo.

I used my trusty EKsuccess border punch, pearl stickers, orange zest ribbon from PTI, circle and scallop circle nesties and some SU markers for coloring. That is all.Simple, huh? I love this new set!

Thank you for visiting me today - Take care

Square birthday

Hi there,

since I got envelopes for square cards I like to create them. And for today's card I pulled out Kelly's sketch challenge from KLStampin'nScrapping.

I used this cute Tilda image from Magnolia - I got it from my dear friend Mary - Thank you, hun! I colored her up with my watercolor pencils and a blender pen, put her on some "sugared" DP from Basic Grey which was cut out with circle and label 3 nesties. Sentiment is a rub-on from SU (chit-chat) and the ribbon, flowers and pearl stickers are from my stash.

Thank you for popping in

color dare#54

Good morning!

Do you wanna hear a secret? I'm the guest designer for the Color Dare for the month of February, YEAH!!!! I was thrilled when Riley sent me an email with the deets for this month's challenges. Let me tell you - the color combos are awesome! If you have time hop over and play with us. There are a couple of wonderful talented ladies in her DT!

This week's colors are pacific point, baja breeze, kiwi kiss, basic gray and white. And this is my take.
I wanted to try my hands on an acrylic card for ages. And while brainstorming for the card I found my transparency sheets et voilĂ  ...

I used the In Bloom set from PapertreyInk and embossed it on the acrylic sheet. Then I put the matching sheet behind it and attached it with a glue dot. On the front I glued a pearl sticker so that you can't see the glue dot through the transparency.
The DP is from SU but since it was a scrap I cannot remember the name (bad me ...). The sentiment is from the same set and was stamped directly on the DP. Organza ribbon is from SU too.

Thank you for popping in today - and don't forget to visit the Color Dare!!!!!
